Spyder Ethos Writing Contest

Theme: Something that moves you.

The Spyder blog represents more than motion — it’s about thought, learning, curiosity, excitement, and passion.
It’s the drive to understand, to create, to push a little further into what stirs us.

The Spyder Ethos Contest invites writing that captures that energy — work that moves, challenges, or confronts. Something that lingers after the engine cuts.

Any form, any genre, up to 2,000 words.
Could be a reflection on society, a critique of it. A story that lingers, a poem that cuts, a thought that won’t let go, even an essay about something you love or can’t stand.

*Note – We do accept existing works so it can be something you’ve written in the past and want to share!

Winner: Cash prize/ access to the Prize Catalogue + Publication on the Blog & Interview with Editor
Deadline: November 30, 2025

There’s no set route — just the open road and what you make of it.
Write something that moves you. That scares you.

Guidelines

Spyder welcomes all voices — but demands respect.
Works that promote discrimination, hate, or harm based on race, gender, sexuality, religion, or identity will not be accepted.
We value thoughtful critique, not contempt.
Push boundaries — but do it with integrity, empathy, and purpose.
